School counseling
Karin Femers heads the school advisory service at Lernmuster GmbH,
together with Dr. phil. Imke von Wolffradt and her team.
Their many years of experience in school practice are put in relation to the scientific findings from the diagnostic environment. The strengths of the children/young people are particularly emphasized in order to be able to show each individual the best possible educational path in the broad educational landscape of Hamburg and beyond (Anglo-Saxon countries/Switzerland/America etc.).
Comprehensive Guidance
Lernmuster offers parents and guardians comprehensive advice on school and educational issues, for example in the following areas:
- Advice on school careers: changing schools, repeating classes, changing school type, individual educational pathways, also including private educational institutions (private schools/boarding schools)
- Compensation for disadvantages in school and test situations: if you would like support with making an application or help with implementing compensation for disadvantages at school, you can contact our team in confidence. We will provide you with comprehensive advice and guide you through the entire process to ensure that your child’s individual needs are taken into account in the best possible way.
- Advice on transferring to a secondary school with the help of standardized diagnostic tests that show your child’s skills and strengths independently of the school assessment.
- Advice on bilingual schools or schools with other language focuses
- Advice on lack of motivation to learn/refusal to perform
- Advice on options for school and extracurricular support for gifted children/young people or children/young people with special talents (revolving door model/school and extracurricular support/measures)
In addition, Lernmuster supports parents on request in working with the relevant teachers and in planning and conducting parent-teacher meetings at school.
